Ceremony to lay the Foundation Stone for the Construction of the Pediatric Ward - Borehole - Electrification and the Rehabilitation of the Ndimi-Ntui Health Center
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, TELCAR COCOA LTD in partnership with the ATLANTIC GROUP FOUNDATION proceeded to lay the foundation stone of the pediatric ward of the NDIMI-NTUI hospital. This was done under the auspices of Administrative and Traditional Authorities of the region.
NDIMI is a small village located in the Ntui district, Mbam and Kim Division in the Center region. Cocoa cultivation is the main activity of this region and she has been accompanied by flagship partners like TELCAR COCOA LIMITED for years.

The Mayor of the Ntui municipality in his speech applauded this collaboration which over time has continued to bear fruits. While greatly appreciating his technical partners, Mr. Georges MANDOH highlighted the achievements in his locality, such as electrification, the construction of boreholes, dryers, storage facilities, classrooms, administrative blocks, the distribution of one hundred thousand seedlings to farmers and soon the construction of a fully equipped pediatric wing and the complete refurbishment of the NDIMI Health Center. Very laudable results of TELCAR Cocoa
Ltd in the district of Ntui. A record that is the pride of the Mayor and his inhabitants.
TELCAR COCOA LTD is a corporate citizen that has made cocoa its prestige product. As a result, the production and marketing of sustainable cocoa of superior quality is heavily reliant on several factors, the most important for TELCAR is the improvement of the living conditions of farmers.
Mr. Roland Besong, The Sustainability Director at Telcar Cocoa Limited, spoke at length about the operating principles of the company, particularly at the social level. «Our aim is to improve the living conditions, livelihood and environment of the populations with whom TELCAR collaborates with so that the results of this partnership are evident.» Hence our slogan "REAL ACTIONS, REAL SOLUTIONS, REAL IMPACTS".
The fully rehabilitated health center will allow nearly five thousand people to benefit from a myriad of pediatric services, plus a surgical unit, a laboratory, a pharmacy, delivery tables, a vaccination unit, toilets, a borehole and electricity.
"We are very delighted with these achievements because beyond our economic activities, it is important for us that the people we work with benefit from us and for us this is only a first step in this partnership that is just beginning," proudly said Mr. Antoine DIOMANDE, ESG Impact and Foundation Director, of the ATLANTIC GROUP FOUNDATION.
The Mbam and Kim division is certainly large but it is still landlocked. It is quite difficult for people to have access to comprehensive health care. This donation from TELCAR COCOA LIMITED and ATLANTIC GROUP FOUNDATION, according to the second deputy divisional officer and representative of the S.D.O of Mbam and Kim Mr. Joel BIKOKO, this comes at the right time because the people of Ndimi in particular and those of NTUI in general will now be able to afford quality and comprehensive care for satisfactory health. The Mbam and Kim division is therefore,
with this new building a complete village and this pediatric center brings considerable added value.
This project, valued at a little over one hundred million CFA francs, has an execution time of six to eight months. News that greatly delighted the people who showed their joy by jubilant songs and dances.

As we closed the event, the administrative and traditional authorities thanked the duo for thinking of Ndimi-Ntui, expressed excitement for the start and completion of the works and the eventual commencement of use of the facilities.
