Coop Academy Project
The Coop Academy project is being implemented in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group, with the goal to enhance access to markets and finance for cooperatives within Telcar/Cargill cocoa supply chain.
During the first phase of the project:
- 165 cooperatives were assessed to understand their strengths and weaknesses in collaboration with SCOPEinsight BV in the Netherlands
- 660 leaders from the aforementioned cooperatives were trained and coached through 33 Coop Academy workshops and 6,600 coaching sessions, respectively.
- We based the training on two themes: FOUNDATIONS OF COOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT and ADVANCING YOUR COOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT.
- The main objective of the above themes was to enhance governance and management practices within cooperatives in the project.
We are currently rolling out the next phase of the project, whose aim is to develop cooperatives based on their score improvement during re-assessment and the cooperative growth potential.
